Lounge Bunnies

I am sorry my dear friends... First off, my babies have some furniture changes in their room and they love their new spot. They jump up on the coffee table with the blanket on it by the window. They snuggle and bask in the sun.

Now arent they the cutest fur babies ever... They look extra fluffy and furry because they are going through there Big shed... Which means my lint roller is definatly getting alot of use. I wonder if I can lint roll the buns. I know Remy would absolutly Hate that...

Also Guess what Miss Ru decided to do while mom was at work... Pull all the stuffing out of her pillow... So there was Ru sitting on the bed in the middle of white stuffing. Looking up at me with her big ears... So proud of what she did. I so wish i would have had my camera at that exact moment...
I promise to be more consistant with my posts.

Tomorrow I will post my New Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcake recipe...

Bunny Love

Who doesnt love to give kisses to the ones you love? Well Remy loves to give Ru kisses and they snuggles for hours. The other night I was just laying on the floor next to them and they decided to come snuggle next to me. But Remy wanted Ru all to himself. He did not want to share her with me. lol. But here are some pics of Remy kissing Ru. So cute. I love these fur babies.

For my baking fans... Extract time

I love making my own extracts. They make every thing taste so much better.
For the month of April, it is going to be a Hazelnut Journey. I am going to post different recipes and baking adventure with this new extract...

Here is the recipe for Hazelnut Extract...

What you need:
1 cup Hazelnuts (toasted, skins removed)
1 vanilla bean
3/4 cup vodka (any kind)
Mason jar or cute jar with lid.
½ cup sugar
1/4th cup water

TIPS:
You will need to split the vanilla bean almost all the way.

Direction:
Toast the hazelnuts in the oven at 175C/350F for 8-10 minutes or until fragrant.
While still hot, transfer them into a jar with vodka.
Add the innards of the vanilla bean along with the vanilla bean to the jar.
Let the flavors infuse for 3-4 weeks in a cool, dry place.
The color of the extract will darken with time.
At the end of 3-4 weeks, drain the hazelnuts from the extract and reserve the extract.
Crush the hazelnuts up and push it through a sieve to remove every last bit of flavor.
In a saucepan, heat the sugar and water together.
At this point, adding the crushed hazelnuts is optional, but I went ahead and did it,
just so I extract every ounce of flavor from it.
Bring the sugar syrup to a boil
(and strain it, if you’ve added the crushed hazelnuts to it in the step above)
and add it to the hazelnut extract mixture.
You can now discard the crushed hazelnuts.
Shake it up and store
***I now store mine in the refrigerator

Hope you enjoy. Also let me know if you want me to come up with the best extract you can make at home.

Easter bunnies

So the easter bunnies live at my house. The loved when i set up this little area because i gave them a lot of treats. I really love these babies.

They love squirrely.
Does anyone have any cute picture ideas? I want to put my wedding dress on and have the bunnys sit by me and someone take a picture.

bun love

My buns are now together... they run, jump and snuggle together... I rearranged the room for them. So there beds are right next to eachother. They also have a little ledge to jump on right next to the window. Ru loves to look out the window. =) I have also made these cool name pictures for their room. I am also in the process of drawing a tree on the wall and some of the branches will be shelves. I captured a picture of them eating hay together. It is so cute. They have their own area for the hay and potties, and water. They are the most spoiled fur babies. I love them so much. Well that is it for tonight. I will post pictures of the tree and name pictures when they are done.

Chocolate Cherry Cordial Cupcakes

Ok who does not love a delish chocolate cupcake? I mean really... Now I can make them even better with my new birthday Kitchenaid stand mixer. (thank you hubby)
Since I love adding a little creativity to my cupcakes, I decided I would try to make a Cherry Cordial Cupcake. Where I do this amazing cherry creamy filling in the chocolate cupcake. As I did this, I was unsure what type of icing would go well with this cupcake. Though a chocolate frosting would be to much, and a plain cream cheese frosting my just not be enough. So I added more cherries in my filling cream that was left over, some powdered sugar and such and it came out to be the most sensational cupcake. It is so tasty. I am very proud of my newest creation.
Let me know if you have a tasty infusion or creation you would like to see what I can come up with.

breaking and entering

Sorry it has been a little bit since my last post... Lots going on.
Last night I was re-arranging the bunnies room. (which is going to be so cute when I am all done.) *Reminder, they are not completely together yet, due to them not exactly wanting to share their space.* While moving a shelf I had to move the gate/fence in the middle of the room that divides the area, and Ru sneaked out of her area and was snooping around Remy's area. As soon as Remy seen her he went running up to her. He was so excited, they chased eachother, or I guess I should say Remy chased her. Then Remy went into her area and was getting into everything and eating her hay. Which happens to be the same as his, but he wants nothing to do with his own hay. I guess the grass is greener on the other side. LOL
Then they would go up to eachother rub faces, then chase again. Remy was so excited he did a sideways hop, where he kinda kicks his feet out to the side as he is jumping. It is the cutest thing.
I did put the fence back up later. But it is good to know that they are slowly getting use to sharing the area.
I love my fur babies.
